This program aims to bring “best” knowledge resources to Chedka at their doorstep, which otherwise is not possible in their lifetime. The aim is to build a knowledge economy in the village.

This shall help the children and others to get the knowledge from maestros of a subject. In turn, the knowledge giver shall also learn a lot from the village and associate for future.

Where it will help: For Children to go beyond traditional jobs and aim for higher jobs/roles.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS:

A. GYAN DEEPMALA:

• Each weekend (40 out of 52 weekends), a speaker shall be invited for living over weekend and sharing her knowledge/experience on the topic of her choice.
• Target audience: All ages. Instructor can plan sessions separately.
• • Instructors’ travel shall be borne by them (unless its an E-session)
  • Expendables, guest stay, material costs per annum: Rs. 20,000/-
  • Local Administrative costs of village resources: Rs. 60,000/- per annum
  • Central management costs: Rs. 60,000/- per annum
  • Facilities : Shared by Village community/ Aranyaani
  • Total per annum: Rs. 1,40,000/-

B. LIBRARY AND FACILITIES:

• A knowledge centre library shall be accumulated that can help children aim for higher exams, etc.
• A centre ready for remote interactive sessions, so that experts can conduct session from anywhere, in future.
• • One time infrastructure for remote/digital sessions: Projector: Rs. 30,000/-, Laptop: Rs. 30,000/-
  • One time cost for Library set up: Racks: Rs. 1,50,000/-
  • Books: Initial costs Rs. 40,000/ , Ongoing costs: Rs. 20,000/-

  • Total first set up: Rs. 2,50,000/-

C. ENCOURAGING ACTIVITIES:

After every session, an activity shall be held for Children below 14, to reward them and inculcate a habit of learning.

• 40 activities covering 100 participants each week
• Expendables plus rewards: Rs. 40,000/- per annum

• Facilities : Shared by Village community/ Aranyaani
• Total: Rs. 40,000/- per annum

SUMMARY:

• MINIMUM FUNDING REQUIRED FOR SUSTANING PROGRAM EACH YEAR: Rs. 1,40,000/- (approx USD 2000)
• TOTAL Funding required for full program this year: Rs. 4,30,000/ -(USD 6000), thereafter, it shall be Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum (approx USD 2,800) to sustain.
