Alfalfa

Botanical name: Medicago sativa L.

Alfalfa is primarily grown in our farms for animal feed along with Vetiver and other grasses.
Late summer can be an excellent time to establish alfalfa and can result in excellent and productive stands by next spring.
It is also used for high cholesterol, asthma, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, upset stomach, and a bleeding disorder called thrombocytopenic purpura. People also take alfalfa as a source of vitamins A, C, E, and K4; and minerals calcium, potassium, phosphorous, and iron.

Medical Uses of Alfalfa:
Detoxes the urinary tract
Purifies the blood and liver
Has a strong alkaline effect on the body
Promotes bowel movement regularity and healthy hydration
Eases general digestive problems
Contains high levels of enzymes for food digestion and assimilation
Lowers bad cholesterol, and reduces incidence of atherosclerotic plaque
Supports healthy blood sugar levels, especially when taken with manganese
Supports the pituitary gland
